ANDEAN GRAINS
Peruvian grains, such as quinoa and kiwicha, have managed to capture the preference of US consumers for their distinctive flavor and nutritional contribution.
Quinua (Chenopodium quinoa) and Cañihua (Chenopodium pallidicaule) are two cultures originating from the Andes that grow at altitudes of 3,000 to 4,000 meters above sea level. Its grains are very nutritious and are consumed by the population of Bolivia and Peru. Currently there is a growing demand in the urban markets for products derived from these grains.
